Service Dog and Therapy Dog Training
Service dogs are specifically trained to perform physical tasks for a person with disabilities. A therapy dog and their handler work as a team to visit facilities such as hospitals, assisted living, and schools – for the purpose of comfort and making people feel happy. At Camp Mutt, we offer the required training to become a Registered Service Dog and Certified Therapy Dog.

Companionship & Assistance
There is a difference between these two types of dogs and their specialized training. Service dogs are trained to perform tasks and assistance for a specific person with disabilities. Therapy dogs are specially trained to help other people feel happy and offer a sense of comfort to many.

Service Dog & Therapy Dog Programs & Pricing
Service Dog Obedience Prep
Service dogs are specifically trained to perform physical tasks for a person with disabilities. Service dog training programs require an initial evaluation to allow us to meet and discuss your needs and expectations. Evaluations also allow us to assess your dog for service dog work. From there, we can explain the different program options and explain our recommendation to best match your needs and goals. Because the needs vary to reach individual desired goals, program types vary as well.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the service dog program setup?
SD training is a lot of work for you and your dog – therefore this takes time. We break-up our programs into three separate programs – focusing only on one at a time.
* Part 1 = Obedience Preparation
* Part 2 = Public Access Training
* Part 3 = Task Training
Can I take the Therapy Dog test without the preparation training?
Yes, if you feel your dog is properly trained to pass the test, we are happy toÂ
administer this for you for a nominal fee.
